From The Mezzanine is a passion project come to life, derived from a love for writing and the editorial process.

The editors here at FTM all come from a variety of backgrounds, but share the common goal of bringing out voices that speak to something understood beyond a surface level, and to explore the abstract aspects of the lived human experience without getting lost in metaphors and numbness of our shared reality.

From The Mezzzanine came out of a desire for community. To create a space for writers who feel out of place. Writers who feel that they exist in a bubble and who just want to be heard. Writers who know what it’s like to have been there, and support those who are finding their voice. Writers who feel that their art takes up too much space, or doesn’t belong in one place or another.
