From The Mezzanine is a passion project of mine that came to me towards the end of my senior year of college.
I had this whole path of moving to Boston, serving as a math tutor with Americorps, and start a lit-mag in a new city where I could be a part of something new and bigger than just me. I was in two publications in college and fell in love not only with the writers that submitted to us, but the process of publishing itself. Working as a team and critiquing work with likeminded people sparked something in me, and the timing was perfect.
Obviously those plans changed (gotta love this administration), but almost a year later, that desire to create something still resonates within me and this is what I’ve been working on. This magazine will be a space for writer’s and artists who speak to something larger than themselves. That are brave enough to speak to the abstract and not get lost in the vastness of it. From the mezzanine, we’ll share art with you that makes you feel something bigger. blah blah idk.
